The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Florida A&M University- Florida State University College of Engineering invites applications for non-tenure track full-time teaching faculty position.
The IME department provides excellent research opportunities as home of the High-Performance Materials Institute. Additional research opportunities are available through collaboration with several FAMU and FSU laboratories/centers including the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, the Center for Advanced Power Systems, and the Center of Research Excellence in Science and Technology*. Over the last 5 years, the annual research expenditures have averaged approximately $2.5 million from multiple sources including active NSF and DoD grants. According to ASEE, over the past 10 years, our research expenditures per faculty have ranked among the top 5 IE departments.
The IME Department presently has 14 faculty members, ABET accredited B.S. programs in industrial engineering with 175 undergraduate students, and M.S. and Ph.D. programs in industrial and manufacturing engineering and engineering management with over 60 graduate students.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach and maintain the department’s B.S. capstone courses, Senior Design Projects I & II, which along with the education and mentoring of student design teams, requires the solicitation of industry involvement and the development of those industry relationships and funding. Additional teaching assignments will be made relative to the education and experience of the candidate.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, student mentoring, and project management. Applicants should hold at minimum an M.S. in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline,although a Ph.D. is preferred.
